Dosis clioquinol: https://www.kinderformularium.nl/geneesmiddel/532/clioquinol.

Vanwege de neurotoxiciteit die bij een cumulatieve dosis van 10 gram kan optreden, dient men na te gaan of clioquinol ooit eerder gebruikt is. Is clioquinol ooit eerder voorgeschreven dan kan dit middel niet nogmaals gebruikt worden.

General comments

  • Behandeling amoebenabces (metronidazol of tinidazol) altijd direct vervolgen met contactamoebicide behandeling (clioquinol).
  • Bij amoebenabces zo nodig aspiratie.
  • Paromomycine is in Nederland niet geregistreerd. Apotheken kunnen het middel met een artsenverklaring bestellen.
