General comments

  • Vóór start therapie urinemonster (eenmalige catheterisatie, blaaspunctie of mid-stream) insturen voor kweek. Urine verkregen middels 'plaszakje' is niet geschikt voor kweek.
  • Men dient altijd rekening te houden met de resultaten van eerdere kweken.
  • Antibiotica, voor zover mogelijk, stroomlijnen op basis van de kweekuitslagen.
  • Indien urineweginfectie met koorts: behandelen volgens therapieadvies bij pyelonefritis
  • Bij kinderen met een complexe urologische voorgeschiedenis kan een langere behandelduur worden overwogen in overleg met kinderuroloog, kindernefroloog en/of consulent kinderinfectieziekten.
