General comments

  • Drainage en kweek (eventueel op geleide van echo/CT).
  • Na klinische verbetering en adequate drainage overweeg switch naar amoxicilline + clavulaanzuur po of clindamycine (LINK) po.

  • Eventueel echo + doppler / CT voor uitsluiten Lemierre.

  • Bij Lemierre op basis van thromboflebitis vena jugularis interne en bewezen Fusobacterium necrophorum infectie: behandelduur verlengen tot 6 weken (primair iv). Laagdrempelig overleg met kinderinfectieziekten en/of microbiologie.
